April 13, 2009
Are you...violating, upset, or intrigued? Speak out! Give the city of Fort Collins your opinion about the 3-unrelated ordinance.
Questions & concernsOn April 16, between 4-6 p.m. in Lory Student Center Room 228, students will have the chance to tell city staff how the 3-unrelated ordinance has affected their lives.
Free food and T-shirt.
You will not get in trouble - this forum is confidential and city staff will not be collecting contact information.
3-unrelated ordinance, also referred to as U+2, is a law that limits the amount of people that can live in a household that are not related. In this economy, we need every opportunity to save some money by possibly living with more than four people.
This event will give you the chance to speak up about how you feel about 3-unrelated ordinance and/or how it has affected you. The information that the city collects will be presented to City Council during the review next fall.
If students don't show up, out voice will not be heard.
Why you should go:
1. Students are disproportionately affected by this ordinance: Of the 200 cases, 90 percent involved CSU students.
2. It increases rent and causes student housing sprawl.
3. Student input in crucial; if we do not tell them how we feel, they will never know!
