Come out and watch the Rams football team workout and practice this Friday at 4 p.m. and then meet team members as they leave the field. You'll have the opportunity to get autographs and take photos. Free posters will be available to every fan.
Friday, Aug. 21CSU fans who'd planned to meet the Rams after their spring game (canceled by weather last April) have another opportunity to meet football players and coaches, get autographs and take photos.
The football program is hosting “Meet the Rams Day” on Friday following the team’s 4 p.m. workout on the fields south of Moby Arena. Admission is free.
To save the grass on their main fields for the duration of the season, the Rams Friday will practice on the former baseball field, south of the Ram Field softball diamond. Fans attending the 4 p.m. workout are asked to please stay in the north end zone, or sit in the bleachers on the west side of the field.
Following the session, the team will be available for autographs and photos with fans, outside the left-field fence of the softball facility, on the way to their locker room. To ensure getting autographs, those planning to visit should arrive by 4:45 p.m. Free posters will be available to every fan.
After 4 p.m., parking is free in Lot 195, west of Moby Arena. Those arriving prior to 4 p.m. should avoid parking in a designated “A” parking row to avoid receiving a ticket. If arriving prior to 4 p.m., fans should be sure to park in the row with the light poles or farther west, which is free all day on Friday. Returning students moving into dorms are likely to utilize this lot as well.
If inclement weather forces the team into its new Indoor Practice Facility, due to space and safety concerns, fans unfortunately won’t be allowed inside. In that case, CSU would explore rescheduling the event.
Also, fans attending practice are asked to avoid bringing strollers, bikes, tripods, lawn chairs and dogs into the facility, and visitors and children will be asked to stand at a safe distance, with children close to their parents.
