TILT continues its 'My Favorite Lecture' series with a talk by Bryan Willson. Willson's lecture, 'Got Impact? Working Towards Global Change from Inside the University' is set for Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 4:15 p.m. in the TILT Auditorium (formerly the Music building).
Dr. Willson’s talk will focus on Colorado State’s emergence as a leader in the use of enterprise to improve the human condition on a global scale. Willson has led the development of several clean energy technologies at CSU that have now been implemented at large scale.
His “favorite lecture” will discuss three of these technologies:
These technologies have achieved global impact through an entrepreneurial approach which is now being implemented more widely at CSU.
The “My Favorite Lecture” series, part of TILT’s Learning Programs initiatives, connects great teachers with students who might be interested in hearing some of Colorado State University’s best professors talk about issues in their disciplines. Willson’s lecture is the second of three “My Favorite Lectures” in Fall 2009.
Many CSU students do not have room in their course schedules to reach beyond their own disciplines, particularly when they are in their junior and senior years or in graduate school. The “My Favorite Lecture” provides CSU students the opportunity to consider ideas they might not otherwise encounter as they work on their courses and pursue their degrees, and to learn from professors who are well known at and beyond the University.
The lecture is set for Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 4:15 p.m. in the TILT Auditorium. A reception with refreshments follows the lecture, providing an opportunity for students to talk with Willson and other students about ideas brought up by the lecture.
