CTV, the CSU student-run television station, has selected its next student manager for the 2010-2011 school year - sophomore Zach Newton.
Sophomore Zach Newton has been selected CTV's Student Manager for the 2010-2011 academic year. Newton was among four candidates who applied for the position. CTV Student Managers are responsible for all content decisions and hiring the student staff.
Newton has a minor in Business but has not yet declared his major. He joined CTV as a reporter in his freshman year, and he has since served as CTV’s chief photographer and as director for the Wednesday night CTV program.
“I enjoy working at CTV because of the experience and opportunities it offers to students,” Newton said. He became an Eagle Scout in 2008 and enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities in addition to his involvement at CTV.
He will train this spring with the current CTV Student Manager, Mary Timby, until the end of Spring Semester, when he will assume the reigns as CTV's student leader.
CTV airs on Comcast Channel 11 and on the web at CTV11.com. CTV is an award-winning, nationally recognized student program. The programs air Monday through Thursday during the academic semester at 9 a.m., 12 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The program emphasizes news, features and entertainment, and is produced by students for students and the community.
