Counseling lab seeking client volunteers

Students can participate in free counseling sessions with graduate students in the Counseling and Career Development Program at CSU. The program helps train students studying to become counselors.

Training future counselors

The Counseling and Career Development (CCD) Program at CSU prepares future counselors and is seeking client volunteers for spring semester. Counseling is free of charge.

Areas for counseling could include, but are not limited to:

• Career Concerns
• Academic Concerns
• Relationships
• Loss, Adjustment, Transition
• Stress and Time Management
• Handling Anger, Guilt, and Other Emotions

If you have a concern in one of these areas or in a related area, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity through the CCD program.

Sessions kept confidential

The information discussed during sessions will be kept confidential, except for issues such as harm to self and others and abuse. Sessions will be video and/or audio taped and viewed for supervision purposes. The tapes will be kept in a confidential place and will be erased at the end of the semester.

Practicum students are supervised by counseling and career development faculty and Ph.D. students. Counseling takes place in the Education Building in Rooms 16, 16A, and 18.
