Apply for a Praxis Grant

Do you have a passion to create change in your community? Do you have a service project or program idea that you want to make a reality? Check out PRAXIS!

Create creative service projects

The purpose of PRAXIS is to support students interested in developing a community service or action project that is innovative, creative, and change oriented.

PRAXIS allows students the opportunity to put their passion into action by providing them with these means to develop their ideas and implement their projects:

• resources
• training
• support
• up to $2,000 in grant funds

Two semester commitment

PRAXIS is a two-semester commitment. In addition to implementing the project, students participate in leadership training and service-learning experiences. PRAXIS will support any aspect of service and/or change. As long as your project is creative, specific and structured, your idea will be considered.

Applications

Interested students may apply with their 2010-2011 project ideas at the start of the fall 2010 semester. Please see the application for a program overview, FAQs, information on submitting a successful project proposal, important dates for the year, and more. Please read and fill out the application carefully.

Visit the Student Leadership, Involvement and Community Engagement office or go online for an application. Applications must be turned in by 5 p.m. Sept. 17 at either the SLiCE office front desk in the Lory Student Center or via e-mail.

Informational meeting

Interested, but need more information? Attend an informational meeting Wednesday, Sept. 8, in LSC Rm. 213-215 from 4 p.m.-5 p.m.
