CSUPD is investigating a report of a non-fatal shooting on campus. The shooting was reported to Broomfield police several hours after it occurred after the victim left campus and drove to that area.
The victim, who is not a student, received a non-fatal wound to the arm after he said he was approached for drugs outside of Summit Hall shortly after midnight.
The victim stated the suspect is a black man who is about 5'7", wearing a light blue flannel shirt with multiple-colored stripes and a hat with a red brim. He is described as being younger than 21 years old. The suspect was last seen running north toward James Court from Summit Hall following the incident.
Police are advising students to use extra caution while on campus until the suspect can be located. Students and employees also should avoid being alone outside at night. Take care of each other. If anyone saw or heard anything suspicious on campus, call CSUPD immediately by dialing 911.
Offices are open and classes will proceed normally at this time.
Updates will be posted to safety.colostate.edu.
