The Women at Noon series is sponsored out of the Office of Women's Programs and Studies. This week's session will focus on women and race within the media.

This session will focus on representations of race and gender in the media. We will use current examples to examine how various forms of television and print media utilize and perpetuate racial and gender stereotypes found in broader society.
We will not only discuss the negative effects that racist/sexist media has on marginalized communities, but will also brainstorm strategies for greater awareness and effective resistance.
The Women at Noon series runs weekly on Wednesdays and addresses various issues concerning gender and race within society.
