Three national organizations have honored the Rocky Mountain Student Media organization with honors, in the areas of reporting for broadcast and print media, print photography, design and multimedia package.

Lisa Ferguson won the Best News Reporting category for a story about eco-conservation in Mexico. The CSU Health Network PSA by Mary Timby, Nic Tapia and Nick Sebesta won for Best Public Service Announcement.
And the KCSU-FM/CTV collaboration, Colorado Music Lounge, won the Best Technical Production award for a program featuring local musician Danielle Ate the Sandwich.
The Colorado Broadcasters, Inc. competition features entries by college students from across the country in eleven television categories. CSU won more first place awards than any other college or university.
Two other CTV entries were also finalists in the Best General Entertainment program category. KCSU-FM disc jockey Nick Penney was a finalist for Best DJ.
The Rocky Mountain Collegian maintains its reputation as one of the top student-run dailies in the nation. From the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, Reporter Aaron Hedge received a first place Gold Circle award for personality profile, and reporters Maggie Canty and Lincoln Greenhaw received second place awards for in-depth and news feature writing, respectively.
College Avenue was also honored by the CSPA. Phil Lindeman was given a second place Gold Circle award for his piece on prostitution in Fort Collins, while Stephanie Scott and Sean Kessell were also awarded second place for the cover design of the spring edition.
Additionally, both publications were recognized as some of the nation’s best-designed student publications by College Media Advisers and the Association of Collegiate Press.

CTV is a student-run television production group that produces news, sports, and entertainment programs that air daily at 9 a.m., noon and 9 p.m. on cable channel 11 in Fort Collins and always on www.ctv11.com.
KCSU-FM is the student-run radio station broadcasting at 90.5 FM.
The Rocky Mountain Collegian is the student-run daily distributed throughout campus and parts of the Fort Collins area.
College Avenue magazine is the student-run quarterly magazine distributed throughout campus and part of the Fort Collins area.
