Hear Temple Grandin in a talk designed for students

Temple Grandin will be speaking March 23 as part of the My Favorite Lecture series. Her lecture will focus on animal behavior, visual thinking, and autism.

My Favorite Lecture with Temple Grandin

The Institute for Learning and Teaching at Colorado State University will host Temple Grandin, renowned animal scientist and advocate for people with autism, on Wednesday, March 23, as part of its “My Favorite Lecture” series. Grandin’s lecture, “The World Needs All Kinds of Minds”, will begin at 4:30 p.m. in C101 Plant Sciences.

No RSVP necessary; however, plan to arrive early. The auditorium will open at 4 p.m. and close when the seating capacity has been reached.

'The World Needs All Kinds of Minds'

Grandin's favorite lecture centers on animal behavior, visual thinking, and autism. Diagnosed with autism as a child, Grandin will discuss how—by thinking in pictures rather than in language—her visual mind allows her to understand animal behavior in ways that others cannot.

The story of Grandin's early life and career in the livestock industry has been made into an Emmy award winning HBO movie starring Claire Danes.

My Favorite Lecture series

TILT's "My Favorite Lecture" series is designed as an opportunity for students to connect with distinquished CSU faculty from widely diverse disciplines.

Each lecture is preceded by a reception, refreshments, and there will be opportunity to meet, greet and speak with the guest of honor after the talk.
