The School of Social Work is pleased to announce that it has received approval to begin offering a doctoral degree in Social Work. The degree is a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) and is the only Ph.D. program at a public university in an eight-state region.
The primary objective is to prepare practicing MSW social workers for a career in academics or research.
The Social Work Ph.D. degree program is currently transitioning from an interdisciplinary Ph.D. which was housed in the School of Education. The interdisciplinary program provided the opportunity to have a social work concentration for Ph.D. students until this new Ph.D. was launched.
The school will admit students in small cohorts every other year, so that classes remain small and the academic program can be individually designed to match personal goals and life schedules.
Interested students may apply for the fall semester 2012; please see the application or contact information if you are interested in applying.
The School of Social Work is part of the College of Applied Human Sciences at Colorado State University.
