Did you know that head injuries are the leading cause of death and serious disability resulting from wheeled sports?
Nationally, head injuries account for more than 60 percent of bicycle related deaths and more than two-thirds of bicycle related hospitalizations. Each year in Colorado, an average of 11 bicyclists are killed and 540 are hospitalized for injuries sustained in bicycle crashes.
With statistics like these, it's important to protect your head! Bicycle helmet use reduces the risk of head and brain injury by 70 percent to 88 percent.
The CSU Police Department has partnered with CH2MHILL to provide FREE helmets to the CSU community!
Helmet supply is limited, so be sure to make it to the front desk of the CSU Police Department in Green Hall Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. asap! One helmet per person, and you must be present to be fitted.
By coming to CSU, you're investing a lot of money in your brain, so protect it!
