On Saturday the CSU Student Recreation Center was transformed into the black-tie, social event of the year. With more than 700 guests attending, the 1870 Dinner: A Celebration of The Campaign for Colorado State University was an historic celebration. The event’s theme celebrated The Campaign for Colorado State University, focusing on the university’s milestone campaign announcement on Friday, Feb. 3.
On Friday, CSU announced that in December, it reached its ambitious $500 million goal for the university’s first-ever comprehensive campaign – six months before the official end of The Campaign for Colorado State.
CSU President Tony Frank and Vice President for Advancement Brett Anderson spoke at the event as well as faculty, researchers, scholarship recipients, student-athletes and coaches.
The evening ended with fireworks in celebration of the great accomplishment of reaching the university’s campaign goal.
The 1870 Dinner is an annual event that honors donors and members of lifetime giving societies. The 1870 Club was named in honor of the university's founding in 1870. Club members include alumni, corporations, foundations, organizations and friends of the University.
