Carrie Zwisler, a senior in interior design in the Department of Design and Merchandising, was recently notified that she is the winner of the 2012 Network of Executive Women in Hospitality Colorado Region Scholarship.

Carrie Zwisler, with a GPA of 3.902, was one of three finalists for this $2,000 scholarship. As a final step during the selection process, she met with the NEWH board to complete a one hour presentation of her senior capstone project: an ECO-RESORT. She particularly enjoys the hospitality industry’s ties to ecotourism and aspires to combine her knowledge and passion for travel with her design aspirations. She will be accepting this award at the first annual "Haute Seat" event they are hosting on April 19 in Denver.
In addition to her academic work, Carrie works part time in the front office for the College of Applied Human Sciences. She is completing a business minor and served an internship in San Diego this past summer. She is currently studying for her Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, Green Associate exam.
The 2012 NEWH Colorado Region Scholarship is open to all interior design students in their junior or senior year of undergraduate study at an accredited institution. The scholarship is awarded to one student in the state of Colorado who has financial need, a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, and a career objective in hospitality.
