More than 2,550 local children, who may not have been able to have a new backpack or notebook, will start the school year with a full slate of school supplies as the result of CSU’s School is Cool program. School is Cool secures the supplies, then through a three-day process organizes, stuffs with grade-appropriate materials and distributes to Poudre School District schools.
School is Cool had 2,554 filled backpacks delivered last week to principals and counselors at elementary, middle and high schools who determine the recipients. Families interested in obtaining School is Cool supplies should contact their home school directly.
This year’s effort could not have been possible without the support of 230 on-campus and community volunteers who hauled, stuffed and delivered supplied to schools throughout the Fort Collins area. Without your support, none of this would be possible. Thank you, School is Cool volunteers!
School is Cool is also supported by a grant from the Bohemian Foundation and the CSU Bookstore and its vendors.
Since 1992, the School is Cool program has provided supplies to nearly 29,000 local students.
