CSU football schedule poster ranked among the best

September 7, 2012

CSU's 2012 football schedule poster has been named one of the best in the country by BleacherReport.com.

CSU’s poster, which features a Ram helmet and photos of players and new coach Jim McElwain under the heading “A Bold New Era” tied for second place in a story ranking the nation’s top 50 schedule posters. The story was written by BleacherReport.com columnist Jonathan McDanal.

“We are delighted that Bleacher Report has recognized our 2012 schedule poster,” said Gary Ozzello, CSU’s senior associate director of Athletics. “This poster came together after great collaborative work by CSU’s Division of External Relations and Athletics, and we couldn’t be more pleased. It’s a great way to let fans know about our ‘Bold New Era.’”

Collaborative effort

Designers Brad Thomas and Chris Weller and photographers Joe Mendoza and John Eisele worked with Patrick Krza in Athletics to come up with the final product, which McDanal praised as “absolutely stunning.”

Posters were judged in six categories: Clarity, schedule layout, photo quality, uniqueness, eye appeal and “coolness factor.”

Iowa State entry was judged as the overall best poster, while CSU shared second place with Vanderbilt. Idaho, Miami, Air Force, Navy, Louisiana Tech, Michigan State and Auburn rounded out the top 10.

Free copies of CSU's schedule poster are available at the McGraw Athletic Center and the CSU Bookstore in the Lory Student Center.
