The College of Business will host Jim Herbert, founding chief executive officer of First Republic Bank and chairman of the Board of Directors on Friday, Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. in the Lory Student Center Theater.
Herbert will discuss ethics, integrity, the current financial crises, and how he built a high performing organization in a regulated industry.
The event featuring Herbert is free and open to the public. Those interested in attending are encouraged to arrive early as seating is first come, first served.
First Republic Bank headquartered in San Francisco focuses on serving high net worth clients in urban coastal cities on the east and west coasts. The bank completed its initial public offering in December 2010 and continues to be one of the fastest growing banks in the industry. From 1980 to 1985, Herbert was founding president, CEO and a director of San Francisco Bancorp. He is a trustee of San Francisco Ballet Association (chair and co-chair 2002-2008), and director of: Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, New York; Joyce Theater Association, New York; San Francisco Film Society; and, The BASIC Fund. Herbert has a Bachelor of Science degree from Babson College and an M.B.A. from New York University.
Herbert is father of CSU graduate Deirdre Herbert, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2010 and a Master of Management Practice in 2011.
