Express Scripts and Walgreens have reached an agreement for Walgreens to resume their status as an in-network retail pharmacy for faculty and admin pro medical plan participants.
As a result Anthem members will be able to use their pharmacy benefit at Walgreens stores beginning Sept. 15, 2012. Express Scripts is the company that Anthem contracts with for participants to access 64,000 retail pharmacy provider locations nationwide.
The communication from Anthem that contains detailed information is located on the main HR website. If you are a current Anthem medical plan participant and you wish to transfer a prescription from another in-network pharmacy to Walgreens, please review the FAQ’s provided by Anthem. You may also discuss your prescription questions with an Anthem customer service representative at (800) 542-9402.
