'Aboriginal Stone Arrangements' Nov. 19 - November 17, 2009
The Gummingurru stone arrangement site is one of largest of its kind in Queensland. Until the early 19th century, it was used for ceremonies and male initiation. The ceremonies came to an end in 1890 when Europeans removed the Aboriginal people from their land and into the towns or government-run missions. On Thursday, Nov. 19, the CSU Department of Anthropology will host a lecture by Annie Ross, a University of Queensland archaeologist, who will discuss Gummingurru and its significance to Aborigines and the world.

Condom Concoction Competition Dec. 8 - November 17, 2009
In order to raise awareness about safe sex practices and World AIDS Day, there will be a CSU Condom Concoction competition. Students can enter by creating original artwork using condoms for a chance to win great prizes.

Humans vs. Zombies has been growing into one of the biggest college events around the world. In the "tag you're it" based game, a group of human players attempts to survive a 'zombie outbreak' by outsmarting a growing group of zombie players.

Walter Littlemoon, a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and his wife, Jane Ridgway, described the impact federal Indian policies have had on his life and family history in his memoir, "They Call Me Uncivilized, The Memoir of an Everyday Lakota Man from Wounded Knee." The couple will share their experiences in a lecture at 6 p.m. Nov. 4 in Eddy Room 10 on the Colorado State University campus.

Pulitzer Prize-winner Jim Sheeler Sept. 8 - August 28, 2009
Jim Sheeler, CSU alumnus (Journalism, '90) won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for feature writing while reporting for the Rocky Mountain News. The Occupational Therapy Department is currently seeking participants for a study investigating the test - retest reliability of transcranial magnetic stimulation measures. Using electromyography (EMG), participants will have their muscle responses recorded in response to non-invasive brain stimulation.

You may be aware that Colorado State University, like most universities, meets with students to address disruptive or inappropriate behavior that occurs on campus. For example, an underage student drinking alcohol in the residence halls meets with a University Hearing Officer to determine if he or she has violated any policies in the Student Conduct Code.
